The Curious Catbird

I was checking my Google Analytics page today and noticed that I was getting a crazy amount of hits on my Etsy shop.  Not being terribly analytical myself it took me a good 2 hours to figure out that Etsy had included me in their daily shopping guide, "On the Road Again."  What a happy girl I am!  It feels so good to be noticed. I have lots of great customers already but a few more would be really cool :)  I have lots of orders to print, pack and ship, so off I go! Esty's Daily Guide to Shopping "On the Road Again."

I've been noticing that there have been an unusual amount of flies getting into the house.  I just shoo them towards the back door and send them on their merry way.  But, this morning, I woke up to around 20 of them flying around the kitchen - yikes!  And yuck!  Once again, I showed them the back door.  Suddenly, I thought there must be something dead somewhere in the house. Yuck again!  Bob climbed into the attic and I walked around the outside of the house.  Nothing dead, but I did find flies chillin inside one of the basement windows.  Yup, there's a large fly family in one small room of the basement.  The cat has been very insistent about going downstairs for the past few days, so I sent him down.  He hasn't found anything yet, but sure seems to be having fun in part of the house that is usually forbidden to him. Who doesn't love a smelly basement!

I know it sounds stupid to say that I'm exhausted because my cat decided to sleep next to me last night.  But it's true!  He is the cutest little guy, but, man it wears me out fighting for sleeping space with him.  Every time I wake up I'm closer and closer to the edge of the bed and he's sound asleep against the back of my knees.  I feel like I need a nap when I haven't even gotten out of bed yet!  He is very beneficial to the coffee industry.

I really am just a baby screen-printer, having taught myself only a few months ago.  Because I had no idea what I was doing I wasn't about to buy expensive ink.  Speedball has served me well for sure but I decided to splurge on some Permaset Supercover black.  Man oh manishewitz! This is some nice ink. I almost don't want to use it, it's so nice.  I printed one Gossiping Bunnies shirt and put it away for use only on special occasions.  Gossiping Bunnies T-shirt

I had a custom order for 12 Dutch bunny flour sack towels in four different bunny colors.  Mixing all the colors was challenging - especially the dark orange.  Darn you bunnies!  Anyhow, I think they turned out really well and they've been sent to their new home :)

This is the second octopus I've printed.  I know I've done well when I think to myself, "I'd wear that." Hopefully other peeps on Etsy will like it too.

My plan for the day was to print a few more brain shirts, but it was just too nice out to go down into the spooky basement.  The beginning of Memorial Day weekend in PA has been beautiful indeed!  I've spent most of the day out on our little deck enjoying the warm breeze, some watermelon and iced tea.  It doesn't get much better than that :)  Maybe I'll print tomorrow, but I doubt too many peeps are spending time on Etsy anyway.  At least I posted a new bag today.  Happy Memorial Day!

I've been doing my best to sit still because it's 82 degrees in my living room and I don't want to turn on the AC.  AC is moola!  I know there are people who love this kind of weather, but I'm not one of them.  I like "warm" weather.  Yes "warm" is good, "hot" is bad...  At least it's cool in the basement.  That's where the tiny little space where I screen print is.  Time to print that brain t-shirt. All zombies need brain t-shirts so I'm sure it will be a great seller.
